Passing Through
Yearning, leaning, yet still loathe to unwrap,
Youth blossoms, and pushes, anxious to grow,
Moving swiftly through the yawn of the gap.
Love beckons forth, but beguiles to entrap
And layers of fear meet desire to know.
Yearning, leaning, yet still loathe to unwrap.
Life lived fully sees dreams overlap.
Longing rewarded means new life will flow
Moving swiftly through the yawn of the gap.
Evolving. Opening. Closing. A snap
At the end as fresh love attracts. And, oh!
Yearning, leaning, yet still loathe to unwrap.
Years rushing. Pushing. New fears of mishap
Undo, as memories call time to slow.
Moving swiftly through the yawn of the gap.
Age softens, wearies; reverses the sap.
Acquiescence hears voices distant, low.
Yearning, leaning, yet still loathe to unwrap,
Moving swiftly through the yawn of the gap.
